For some, a permanent baldness solution is an accepted part of the development process; for others, it is a cause of pain. Millions of men and women suffer from hair loss, and despite decades of study, there is no treatment. But now there is a treatment available in many countries.

Permanent baldness solutions can also be managed using replacement treatments such as micro-grafting, and punch grafting, as well as head reduction. Which transplant techniques are most suitable is decided by the kind of loss as well as the patient’s situation and goals.

Some patients with hair fall may benefit from a process known as PRP (platelet-rich plasma), which has been used in the last few years to help people to control thinning or shedding.

Who Is Fit for Replacement?

Hair replacement therapy possibilities include for permanent baldness solutions:

  • Male pattern baldness affects men.
  • Some female-pattern (basic) scalp loss patients
  • A person who has lost hair due to burns or other head injuries.
  • People who have actually lost their scalp

Who is not fit for a transplant?

Transplant is not suggested for the following people:

  • Women who already have much loss before the treatment
  • Those who don’t have enough “donor” sites (hairy parts of the head where the hairy skin comes from): people who get skin wounds as a result of trauma, surgery, burns, or radiation injury.

Transplantation or Grafting? What to choose?

Scalp grafting, also known as transplantation, is the case of scalp replacement treatment done in the doctor’s office.  Microscopic transplants have one to two Cut transplants have four to ten, and punch transplants have 10-15 hairs.

Mini-grafts (two to four) and tape transplants are other choices (long thin grafts containing 30 to 40). For relaxation and comfort, a local anaesthetic is put into the head, and sedation is given if necessary.

What Happens During and After Transplantation?

The doctor starts the transplant for a permanent baldness solution by removal of a part of the scalp that leads to on the back of the head. The doctor next divides the excised strip into smaller pieces with different amounts of the hair in each graft, which, when transplanted into the balding area, results in a very slight thickening and a “natural” appearance.

Generally, 50 or more scalp-bearing parts are transplanted during each session. Stitches are used to seal “donor” sites, which are normally hidden by the surrounding scalp. After the transplant process, the scalp will be cleaned and wrapped with bandages and, if necessary, a bandage. The stitches will be removed in approximately 10 days.

Several sessions may be necessary to reach a satisfactory “fullness”. A two-to-four-month healing period is normally required after each treatment.

Will Transplantation Cause Any Pain or Side Effects?

Most transplant side effects heal on their own within one to three weeks.

Here are some of the more common side effects:

  • Swelling
  • causes pain near the eyes
  • clots of blood at the “donor” and “recipient” sites of the scalp.
  • A lack of feeling or sensation surrounding the  “donor” and “recipient” sites of the scalp
  • Welling in the “donor” area

Scalp Cutting

A Scalp reduction is the removal of non-hair-bearing skin for permanent baldness solutions from the scalp in order to push the left hairs containing skin to fill in the bald area of the head. Scalp treatment can remove up to 50% of the bald area. It is a process used to treat dead skin on the front and sides of the head and has never been shown to help the forehead line.

A local anaesthetic is given to the scalp, and a bald section of the scalp is incised. The surrounding skin is then relaxed and carefully pulled, putting the parts of the hair-bearing scalp together and stitched together. This treatment can also be done with hair transplantation.

What are the effects of scalp removal?

Pain will start to feel greater after scalp removal surgery than after hair transplantation. Headaches are common and are treated with non-aspirin pain medications. For a few months, minor scalp irritation may be felt.

1- Some kinds of loss can be treated successfully. You may be able to correct or at least stop the loss. Hair can recover without treatment in some cases, such as patchy loss (alopecia areata), within a year. Medications and surgery are also ways to treat loss.

2-  If your hair loss is caused by a genetic condition, you will need to be treated for that condition. If a drug is causing your alopecia, your doctor may advise you to stop using it for a few months.
